The High Court dismissed the petition challenging the investigation against DK for acquiring assets beyond income
The High Court dismissed the petition challenging the government's action in ordering an investigation against KPCC president DK Shivakumar.
DK Sivakumar had appealed to the High Court that the government's permission for the CBI investigation should be cancelled. As it was rejected, they faced difficulties during the elections.
The government had ordered a CBI probe into the case of disproportionate assets, and the KPCC president had approached the High Court challenging it. He had filed an application seeking a stay on the CBI investigation against him. Accordingly, the High Court, which took up the inquiry, extended the injunction several times after listening to the arguments of the lawyers for the petitioner and the CBI.
In this regard, D.K. It has been announced that the single-member bench headed by Justice K. Natarajan, who heard the petition submitted by Sivakumar, dismissed the petition. From this D.K. It seems that Shivakumar is in trouble again.
During the earlier hearing regarding the petition, the lawyer who argued for Shivakumar said there was a political conspiracy behind the filing of the case. Already three income tax related cases are in Shivakumar's favour. This is the fourth FIR. Before filing a case of disproportionate assets against representatives of the people, the permission of the assembly speaker should have been obtained. Accordingly, the administrative decision given for investigation is not justified. Therefore, it is requested that the action recommended for investigation should be cancelled.
DK Sivakumar said that there will be no problem in contesting the elections as the High Court has said that the hearing of another petition challenging the CBI investigation has been postponed and the stay order given to the CBI investigation will continue till then.
